Dry Pack Info

There was some discussion in the food storage class about the Sandy Dry Pack.
Saturday Oct. 22 is our Stake's day for dry pack.

Sandy Dry Pack, 615 East 8400 So. They are open Saturday from 9-5.

Preparedness Email 10/20

This email not only includes some good looking recipes, good info on salt and a warning about the upcoming price hike on peanut butter (stock up now!) - but also a nifty little tutorial on suturing someone's scalp - eek!  Certainly something to think about in your preparedness preparations!!  CLICK HERE to read all about it!!

Terrific Tuesday Updates!!

Hello all!

After looking through all the signups we have decided to make just a few little changes to the scheduling of our Terrific Tuesday night - hopefully this will be something that will make the night run smoother and be more enjoyable for everyone :)

First, the Photo Editing class has been cancelled for TT, and will be re-scheduled on its own special night, SOON. 

Second, the "craft" classes will be taught from 4-4:30pm and from 5:30-6:30pm, in order to allow the teachers of these classes to attend other classes as well.  The teachers will be around for the majority of the event (remember, from 4-9pm), but they may be involved in teaching or attending another class at the other times, so you would be well advised to show up at least to get started on your projects during one of these 2 times. 
These classes are: 
* burlap wreaths
* temple blocks
* fabric covered magnet boards
* fabric covered scriptures
*yoyo bookmarks



The other scheduled classes are as follows:
4:30-5:30 Cinnamon Rolls
6:00-6:30 Gift Boxes
6:30 - Emergency Trunk Kits *** notice that this is a time change (it will be fast, no worries!)
6:30 - Dinner (EVERYONE should join us for this delicious event!)
7:00-8:00 EYB "Eat Your Basement"
8:00-9:00 Crepes

We will also have a project (most likely some quilts) set up by the Humanitarian Committee that we would love to have any and all help with between your regularly scheduled classes - this is a great way to participate if you haven't signed up for any classes but would like to join us for a wonderful evening of visiting and of course enjoying the delicious dinner!!

It's Workout Time Again!!

Are you ready to start your workout for the fall?  I am starting to do classes at the church again.

We will workout Monday - Friday 8:30-9:30am. 

You can still bring your kids and don't forget your mat! And as always it is FREE! 

Come sweat with me and your other "sisters". 
We will start this coming Monday.
 

Oh and for those of you who want the 6am classes - I'm not quite ready.  My life is a little too crazy.

Sorry that will have to wait a few more months.

Terrific Tuesday 2011

It’s that time – time to get all signed up for the Terrific classes and projects that you are interested in!  Below is a picture with details on each class….the LAST DAY TO SIGN UP will be this upcoming Sunday, 10/9 – the display tables will be there for you to get one last real look – be sure to bring your checkbooks with ya! 

 

  Cinnamon Rolls – $1 class

  Class from 4:30 – 5:30pm

 

 

 

 

Basic Photo Editing Class (free!)

Class from 5:30 – 6:30pm

 

 

EYB – “Eat Your Basement” – $1

Class from 7:00 – 8:00pm

Claire will be teaching us all about establishing a 90 day food storage plan where you store what you eat and eat what you store.  She will also be showing how to make easy mixes out of your food storage items!

 

Crepes – Sweet & Savory – $1

Class from 8:00 – 9:00pm

 

 

 

 

 

Gift Boxes – $3 (paper will vary!)

Class from 6:00 – 6:30pm

Make & Take 4 different gift boxes / bags.  Other templates to take home and make yourself will be available!  GREAT use of all that cute paper you have lying around the house waiting to be used!!

 

 

YoYo Bookmarks – $1/ea

(allow 20 minutes for each)

You will learn how to make these fun and versatile little “flowers”.  You will take one home on a super fun giant paperclip to use as a bookmark, or to give away – and you will also be shown many of the fun and different uses for this easy little item!

 

 

Burlap Wreaths – $6/round  $8/square

(allow 30 minutes for each) Class between 4:00 – 6:30pm

This class is to make the basic wreath only (no embellishments) – Personalize it in your own special way!  Pick from either tan or black burlap, and either round or square wreath.

 

Fabric Covered Magnet Board (18”x18”) – $8

(allow 20 minutes) Class between 7:00 – 8:00pm

You will need to provide your own fabric (5/8 of a yard will make 2 boards) and ribbon (1 1/2 yards each)

 

 

 

Temple Blocks (8”x8”) – $10

(allow 1 hour – this includes drying time in the middle) Class between 7:00 – 9:00pm

You can choose from either the SL Temple or the Draper Temple – a sample of the Draper Temple will be available on Sunday!)

 

 

Fabric Covered Scriptures – $6 for either large or small size – specify which size you would like!

(allow 45 min-1 hr)

There will be an assortment of different fabrics & embellishments to choose from.

 

 

 

Christmas Subway Art – $17

(allow 1 hour) Class between 4:00 – 6:30pm

You are welcome to bring paints for a different color scheme if you would like!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Emergency Trunk Kits – $20

Class from 5:30 – 6:00

Kit holds enough supplies to keep 2 people going in case of an emergency!
